1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of business aspects of working as a concept artist including copyright issues pricing, and the rights of an artist.
During this past term, we had professionals from industry who visited to give talks on various topics.
In my opinion, so far "Concept Art" as a category of art, it is possible in terms of mainland China have not yet been fully recognized and treated correctly. I am gradually learning to understand and become more aware of some of the connotation in Concept Art studying.
The so-called Concept Art, refers to the visual effect of the product set a tone, it should be said that the core of the work of one of the original content of a game or a movie. Client (usually an independent producer or planner) are just a little bit vague idea, we need to draw something to give him to find ideas.Contemporary in mainland China, all the information about Concept Art belong to the field of animation and video games.
2. Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of concepts, information and techniques at the forefront of Concept Art.
In concept art, ideas always begin from sketches to explore. Thumbnails a very good technique. In the early character design, providing a quick way thumbnails are a good way to give different ideas and color matching. Once the thumbnails look good, it can have extended more details, and to form the final image.
3. Review and critically appraise the complex concepts and professional practices which underpin the production of original imagery.
For example, the Assassin's Creed brief

To be able to create an interesting concept, I've started with some research to get some reference of Chinese traditional costumes. I found some pictures, with reference to some TV, woman warrior image interests me. Looking at other artist's work gave me some afflatus.

At last my Chinese female assassin, in clothing, I abandoned the original Assassin's hood, switch hats form Ancient China. But the final result is not very good, the lack of features assassin.

4. Critically reflect on the challenging and novel visual solutions to a brief
For the Assassin's Creed brief we should create a Typical building. Perspective for me is a big challenge, especially ancient Chinese architecture, I find some reference, after analysis of different angles, decided to draw a simple design of two-point perspective construction.
5. Act autonomously in planning and implementing a Pitch Presentation’ at a professional level.
For Assassin’s Creed brief we need to create a Character Turnarounds and a Model sheet of Mechanical Asset – vehicle, weapon or other prop
6. Analyse and interpret challenging client briefs and produce relevant and original work in response.
For the Shelley Page’s brief, My character in painting style is too cartoonish, and grasp of the age is not accurate, that she looks younger, and the lack of personality
7. Explore and evaluate a range of visual responses to a brief.
Gabby Kent asked us to Design some character for her new book Alfie Bloom. I chose the Protagonist Alfie, Amy Sui, Caspian Bone and Artan
Their personalities and image are very different
8. Reflect on practice and recognise and critically appraise strengths and weaknesses.
In the Environment design, I strive to draw up a building in Assassin's Creed, I think it gives me some progress, in the perspective of research and design
In overall terms, I think the link between my characters and Environment and the design between characters is not enough, the lack of unity, perhaps there should be some similarities of color would be better
